About the Role
Reporting to the Procurement Governance, Ethical Sourcing & Modern Slavery Manager, you will play a key role in driving Aboriginal procurement initiatives across WesCEF. You will partner with internal customers, external suppliers and key community organisations to increase engagement with Aboriginal-owned businesses and ensure procurement activities align with Wesfarmers’ RAP, values and governance standards.
We are seeking a passionate, community-minded and commercially focused Category Advisor – Aboriginal Procurement to help drive our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supplier engagement across WesCEF. This role is ideal for someone who wants to contribute to long-term economic empowerment, build strong supplier relationships, and influence sustainable procurement outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:

Lead and promote Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander procurement initiatives across WesCEF, building awareness and capability within the business.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander suppliers, community organisations and internal stakeholders.

Educate and support stakeholders to understand Wesfarmers’ RAP commitments, procurement compliance requirements and risk management processes.

Develop forward-looking procurement and supplier management plans aligned to business objectives, values and governance frameworks.

Maintain accurate reporting on Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander procurement engagement, spend, supplier performance and contract documentation standards.

Deliver sourcing activities including RFXs, negotiations, contract drafting and supplier performance management to ensure value-for-money outcomes.

Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander procurement, ESG outcomes and procurement processes.
About You
We are looking for someone who has a strong interest in Aboriginal procurement, community development and supplier engagement. To be successful in the role, you will bring:

Experience in a relevant field (procurement, contracts, community partnerships, commercial, operations, or similar).

Effective communication, relationship building and problem-solving skills.

Good organisational and reporting capability.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Understanding of sourcing processes and supplier management methodologies.
-
Experience working with Aboriginal businesses, communities or stakeholders.

Ability to interpret commercial, operational and risk considerations.
