About the role  

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement ESG Officer to join Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers and play a key role in strengthening our procurement governance and ESG outcomes across the business. 

 

Reporting to the Procurement Governance, Ethical Sourcing & Modern Slavery Manager, this role provides specialist support across procurement governance frameworks, ethical sourcing, modern slavery, Aboriginal engagement, and broader ESG obligations. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and the wider Wesfarmers Group to ensure strong commercial outcomes while effectively managing risk and compliance. 

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a procurement professional with an interest in ESG, governance, and ethical sourcing to build depth and influence within a complex, values-led organisation. 

 

Key responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Provide specialist support across WesCEF’s procurement governance framework, including source-to-contract and procure-to-pay processes 

  • Support and deliver procurement ESG programs 

  • Assist with the development, implementation, education and enforcement of procurement policies, procedures, tools and training 

  • Support compliance with legislative, regulatory and internal governance requirements 

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, Shared Services, Corporate Solicitors Office and Group Procurement to identify and manage risk 

  • Support select sourcing activities, including mid-risk sourcing events, RFX processes, contract negotiations and supplier management 

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across procurement governance, systems and processes 

  • Promote a strong safety culture and support effective HSE management for suppliers and contractors 

 

About You  

 

You’re a detail-oriented and commercially minded procurement professional who is passionate about ethical sourcing, governance and continuous improvement. You’re confident engaging with stakeholders, analysing data, and applying governance frameworks in a practical, business-focused way. 

 

You will bring: 

 

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a commercial discipline (or equivalent experience) 

  • Around 2+ years’ experience in a procurement role, ideally with exposure to governance, compliance or ESG 

  • Knowledge of procurement processes, governance frameworks and legislative obligations 

  • Experience or strong interest in ethical sourcing, modern slavery, supplier risk and ESG programs 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and data analysis skills 

  • Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement capability 

  • Experience using Microsoft Office and procurement systems (e.g. Ariba) 

  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. CIPS, IACCM, CPA/CA) is desirable
