About the Role
As our AI Platform Architect, you will shape the platform, tools and reusable technical patterns that enable safe, cost-conscious AI experimentation and production use across WesCEF.
Reporting to the AI & Spark Manager, you will work with technology, cyber security, data, governance and business teams to help AI solutions move from an initial idea into supported everyday use. This strategic and hands-on role will help:
- Define the enterprise AI platform architecture and tooling roadmap, balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term reuse.
- Connect people with approved AI tools and trusted information through secure, role-based access and reusable connectors.
- Establish practical pathways for experiments to become team tools and enterprise products, reducing avoidable rework.
- Embed security, privacy, governance and cost visibility into platform design, working within agreed standards and accountabilities.
- Evaluate tools and vendor recommendations, and guide internal teams and delivery partners to build reusable foundations and future AI products.
About you
There is more than one pathway into this role but at your core, you will bring strong architecture expertise and practical judgement. You will be comfortable setting a technical direction, working hands-on with emerging patterns and translating complex choices into decisions that business and technology leaders can act on.
You will hold the relevant tertiary qualification with a strong industry experience. We are keen to understand your experience and capability across these areas:
- AI platforms, agents, large language models, retrieval, evaluation and developer tools.
- Cloud, identity, integration and security architecture.
- Technical standards and reusable platform patterns that help teams deliver consistently.
- Platform governance and cost management, with attention to value, risk and supportability.
- Working with stakeholders and vendors, explaining technical choices clearly and influencing across teams.
- Navigating ambiguity and competing priorities while keeping safety and responsible AI use in focus.
- The role is Perth-based and may involve travel to operational sites or other business locations.
- Occasional flexibility outside standard business hours to support implementation activities may be required.
