About the role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Field Supervisor  to manage and supervise mechanical and building maintenance activities on NPI assets across WesCEF. This hands‑on role is focused on contractor management, safety excellence and delivery of routine maintenance, capital and special maintenance projects to budget and schedule.

Reporting to the Field Engineering Supervisor, you will work closely with internal and external  stakeholders to ensure work is planned, executed and closed out safely, efficiently and in line with engineering, environmental and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise mechanical and facilities  maintenance activities using contract resources
  • Ensure all work is performed in strict accordance with site Permit to Work and safety systems
  • Develop scopes of work, support tendering and manage contractor performance
  • Ensure the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is utilised to manage work and workflows (Work Order system). Develop scopes of work for Preventative Maintenance (PM) task as required.
  • Monitor costs, manage budgets and approve expenditure within delegation limits
  • Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions and promote a strong safety culture
  • Ensure compliance with engineering, environmental, quality and change management requirements
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, regulators and consultants

 

About You  

  • Trade certificate (Mechanical / Building trade)
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in mechanical / Building installation or maintenance within the mining, chemical or mineral processing industry
  • Proven experience supervising a team of employees or contractors
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and standards
  • Sound commercial and cost awareness with budget management experience
  • Experience with underground services including pipeline repairs (desirable but not essential)
