About the role
We’re seeking a technically strong and governance-focused Senior Resource Geologist to join WesCEF Minerals. In this role, you will govern, deliver and maintain compliant and auditable Mineral Resource estimates and geological models through robust QA/QC, documentation and peer review. You will provide the technical assurance and stewardship required to support internal decision-making, scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, mine planning inputs and statutory reporting in alignment with WesCEF Exploration’s development objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain governance frameworks for Mineral Resource estimation, including standards, assumptions, documentation, version control and audit trails.
- Lead end-to-end Resource estimation and model updates, including domaining, variography, estimation, validation, classification and uncertainty communication.
- Own data QA/QC across drilling, sampling, assay and geological datasets, and drive corrective actions with internal teams and external laboratories.
- Coordinate peer reviews and independent audits of geological interpretations, models and estimates, ensuring findings are closed out and documented.
- Prepare and/or technically review Mineral Resource reports and supporting documentation for internal studies and statutory disclosure requirements.
- Provide fit-for-purpose Resource model outputs and technical guidance to mine planning and study teams, including grade-tonnage, cut-off sensitivity, assumptions and limitations.
- Promote continuous improvement in estimation workflows, software practices and technical assurance across WesCEF Exploration.
About you
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, Applied Geology or equivalent.
- Postgraduate qualification in Economic Geology, Geostatistics or a related discipline (desirable).
- Eligibility for, or membership of, a recognised professional body such as AIG or AusIMM.
- Competent Person status for Mineral Resource reporting under the applicable reporting code, or demonstrable progress toward CP status.
- Strong understanding of Mineral Resource estimation workflows and governance, from data through to domaining, variography, estimation, validation and classification.
- Demonstrated QA/QC capability across drilling, sampling, assay and geological logging datasets.
- Experience preparing and/or technically reviewing Mineral Resource reports and supporting documentation suitable for internal studies and statutory disclosure.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills, with the ability to translate Resource outcomes into practical mine planning and study inputs.
- Competence with industry-standard geological modelling and resource estimation software, and strong data analysis skills.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, integrity, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
