About the Role

 

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, you'll be a valued member of the payroll team, delivering accurate end-to-end payroll services across the WesCEF division. Working closely with the broader HR team, you'll support best-practice processes and help bring our vision of “Connecting People to Business Success”. Your customer-focused approach, strong communication skills, and ability to confidently navigate policies and procedures, will be key to supporting payroll excellence.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver accurate and timely weekly and monthly payroll processing.
  • Provide responsive support for payroll and time management enquiries through the centralised ticketing system.
  • Complete month-end payroll activities, including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and third-party payments.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across payroll processes, systems, and service delivery.
  • Interpret relevant awards and agreements while maintaining payroll procedures and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate HR and payroll data, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Conduct payroll audits, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance reviews.
  • Collaborate with employees, leaders, HR colleagues, and external partners to deliver positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of payroll practices and service delivery.

 

 

About You

 

You will thrive in a busy payroll environment, managing regular deadlines with agility and bringing experience in:

 

  • Proven experience with end-to-end payroll processes across medium to large organisations.
  • Experience using payroll platforms such as Chris21, is highly regarded.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant employment and statutory legislation, including industrial frameworks.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • A collaborative approach, with a focus in supporting and delivering team success.
  • Energetic, self-motivated and resilient in meeting business goals.
  • Relevant certification is beneficial but not essential.
