  • Collaborate with the business, including senior management, commercial and operational teams in providing insightful and meaningful analysis 

  • Provide strategic business partnering as a trusted advisor to the CSBP Fertilisers business 

  • Permanent, full-time role based at our new Perth CBD office. With stakeholders located at both our Perth CBD and Kwinana (operational) location you will need to be able to travel between both locations as required.

The Opportunity  

 

As the Management Accountant, reporting directly to WesCEF’s Finance Manager, you will utilise your technical accounting skills and commercial acumen to influence and enable value creation. Your role is pivotal in providing the business with timely, accurate, and insightful financial information to positively influence decision making. 

 

Other responsibilities will also include:  

 

  • Preparing monthly financial statements and board reports for the business, providing meaningful analysis, insights, and performance commentary. 

  • To proactively identify, develop, lead, deliver and implement finance improvement initiatives and projects across Fertilisers to achieve the Finance vision. 

  • Take accountability for inventory and cost of sales, monitoring, managing, and maintaining bill of materials to ensure accuracy of product costing and inventory measurement. 

  • Provide analysis and identify opportunities to optimise working capital and capital employed throughout the year to enable the business to positively contribute to Wesfarmers objective ‘to deliver a satisfactory return to shareholders.’ 

  • Provide insightful commentary that links financial performance of key business drivers and strategies. 

  • Operating as a strategic business partner by providing financial acumen and support to business strategy formulation and execution. 

  • Manage the forecasting, budgeting, and corporate planning processes. 

  • Ensure appropriate levels of governance and controls exist to mitigate financial and operational risks. 

  • Commit to safe work practices and foster a safety culture. 

 

About You 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline. 

  • Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, CPA Australia, or equivalent qualifications. 

  • Well-developed commercial acumen, with the ability to understand the key drivers of business performance and awareness of industry trends and issues. 

  • High level influencing and negotiation skills. 

  • An analytical mind with ability to problem solve, identify trends, and proactively address upcoming issues / opportunities. 

  • Experience in planning and reporting in a large commercial corporate environment is highly regarded, with experience in agriculture, manufacturing or chemical processing desirable.  

  • Continuous improvement and innovation mindset underpinned by a willingness to learn and utilise technology. 

  • Strong ability to build and maintain productive business relationships, collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders with varying levels of financial and accounting expertise. 

  • Systems: JDE and TM1. SAP and SAC experience is highly desired as we continue our implementation journey.
