About the role
Are you looking to develop your skills as an Occupational Hygiene Technician in a highly regarded organisation?
We’re seeking an Occupational Hygiene Technician to coordinate our gas detection fleet, support our monitoring programs and contribute to a safe, healthy workplace across our sites.
Reporting to the Senior Hygiene Advisor, you’ll play a key role in equipment calibration, coordinating gas detectors and conducting exposure assessments. This is a hands‑on technical position that suits someone who enjoys field work, problem‑solving, and working collaboratively with diverse teams.
You will:
- Conduct occupational hygiene monitoring in line with program requirements
- Facilitate calibration of occupational hygiene equipment
- Coordinate and maintain gas detection equipment across site
- Enter monitoring data into our health management system, Cority
- Work with internal teams, contractors, laboratories, and equipment specialists
- Contribute to safety and other continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the development and review of hygiene procedures and communication
Key skills and experience for the role:
- Possess a certificate or diploma in Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Science, Science, or another related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Occupational Hygiene Technician
- Previous experience in a heavy industrial operation, preferable Chemical or Oil/Gas or a Major Hazard Facility
- Proficient in Cority for database management
- Qualifications as Noise Officer
- Qualifications as a Mine Air Quality Officer
- Membership to the AIOH
- Ability to prioritise, problem‑solve and meet deadlines
