About the role
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Lead Project Engineer is responsible for leading a core team, executing capital projects through the project life cycle, including FEED, detailed design, project implementation and execution, through handover to operations and closeout; within assigned program, aligned to the overall business objectives and safety compliance and standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Project management and supervision of direct reports managing capital projects across a full life cycle through to commissioning, handover to operations and closeout.
- Responsible for ensuring financial management and reporting of project costs is carried out in accordance with company standards.
- Provide project management support to internal customers across the business.
- Maintains relationships with range of multi-discipline engineering teams and other subject matter experts on all aspects of the project cycle.
- Manage stakeholder expectations around project delivery, schedule and costs.
- Provide peer reviews and reports on various projects.
- Work with experienced engineering personnel to improve company maintenance, construction and safety procedures.
- Deliver innovative and low-cost solutions on assigned project deliverables
- Ability to manage performance and development of assigned Project Engineers.
- Ensures compliance and adherence with all legislative, regulatory, standards bodies and Company requirements.
- Perform other duties as required by the Program Manager.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline and/or Project Management within a similar industry such as heavy industry, chemical and/or process plant environment.
- Hands-on experience leading multi-disciplinary EPC or EPCM, brownfield, full life cycle projects, through to Commissioning, Operations Handover and Closeout.
- Familiar with the Australian and International standards, and related state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Ability to lead and mentor other Project Engineers to deliver project outcomes.
- Strong customer service, engagement and influential skills
- Excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-Driven, resilient and flexible in driving change to support project deliverables.
- Strong safety culture that is aligned to the role and overall business safety practices and standards.
