CSBP Sodium Cyanide operates within Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers (WesCEF), supplying essential chemical products that support critical mining and industrial activities. Australian Gold Reagents (AGR) is a joint venture between CSBP (75 per cent) and Coogee Chemicals (25 per cent). CSBP, a wholly owned subsidiary of Wesfarmers Limited, acts as the operating and sales agent for AGR. Based in Kwinana, Western Australia, AGR has safely and reliably manufactured and supplied sodium cyanide to gold mines across Western Australia since 1988, and to gold and silver mining operations internationally since 2002.

The Opportunity

As a Despatch Operator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient packaging, loading, and despatch of both solid and liquid sodium cyanide, as well as anhydrous ammonia. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain high operational and safety standards.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Operate forklifts (2.5T and 44T) for loading/unloading trucks and containers.
  • Package and despatch solid sodium cyanide in 1-tonne IBCs and 20ft containers.
  • Load isotainers and rail wagons with liquid sodium cyanide and anhydrous ammonia.
  • Perform shunting operations and comply with Rail Safety National Law (WA) Act 2015.
  • Maintain safety standards, report hazards, and participate in safety training.
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.

 

About you

  • High Risk Forklift Licence (LF) and minimum C Class Driver’s Licence.
  • Experience in packaging plants or bulk goods despatch.
  • Familiarity with handling dangerous/hazardous goods.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of safety procedures and legislative requirement

 

To be successful for this role you will be willing to work flexibly and open to working various shift rosters across teams and will show a keen interest in learning new skills and processes.
