About the role
In this highly sought-after casual position as a Sample Preparer/Receivals Assistant you will support our high throughput CSBP Soil and Plant Analysis Agricultural Laboratory to meet business demands.
To succeed in this role you will carry out routine tasks accurately and efficiently with confidence in your adherence to strict methodologies for sample preparation. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions are vital for this role. You will be proactive in maintaining a safe working environment, and take pride in delivering quality and consistency in your work as part of an accountable, high performing team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Sieving and grinding soil and plant samples for analysis by our Technicians.
- Receiving and sorting soil samples for test requirements from farm, agribusiness and research customers.
- Washing of lab equipment and general cleaning of the sample receivals and sample preparation areas.
- Disposal & treatment of samples to meet quarantine requirements
- Being proactive in maintaining a safe working environment and taking pride in delivering quality and consistency in your work.

Our team of casual Sample Receivals and Preparer Assistants are rostered in line with the demands of our busy season, commencing from November through to April, with shifts rostered between the laboratory’s operating hours of 6am-6pm.
