About the role 

We’re seeking an experienced Chemist to join our high performing soil testing laboratory in Bibra Lake.

In this role, you will play a key leadership position in maintaining the laboratory’s quality systems, overseeing the commissioning of new equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance both quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Ensuring the Lab’s quality management system is maintained in line with ISO 17025 

• Commissioning of new equipment, including training of staff. 

• Leading a team of quality control officers 

• Developing, modifying, verifying and validating methods and associated standard operating procedures as required 

• Identify and implement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and operational efficiency
• Provide technical expertise and support to laboratory technicians and assist with customer enquiries
• Act as the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator

About You 

• Bachelor of Science (Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or a related discipline)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory environment
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• High attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes
• Demonstrated business acumen and commercial awareness
• Proven leadership capability with a collaborative team approach
• A strong advocate for safe work practices, leading by example
• Experience with ICP-OES and Flow Injection or Segmented Flow Analysis is highly desirable
