About the role
We’re seeking an experienced Chemist to join our high performing soil testing laboratory in Bibra Lake.
In this role, you will play a key leadership position in maintaining the laboratory’s quality systems, overseeing the commissioning of new equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance both quality and efficiency.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the Lab’s quality management system is maintained in line with ISO 17025
- Commissioning of new equipment, including training of staff.
- Leading a team of quality control officers
- Developing, modifying, verifying and validating methods and associated standard operating procedures as required
- Identify and implement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and operational efficiency
- Provide technical expertise and support to laboratory technicians and assist with customer enquiries
- Act as the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator
About You
- Bachelor of Science (Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or a related discipline)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial laboratory environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes
- Demonstrated business acumen and commercial awareness
- Proven leadership capability with a collaborative team approach
- A strong advocate for safe work practices, leading by example
- Experience with ICP-OES and Flow Injection or Segmented Flow Analysis is highly desirable
