About the role:   

In this casual position you will support our high throughput CSBP Soil and Plant Analysis Laboratory to meet business demands immediately and during the busy soil season. Working alongside an encouraging and experienced Quality Control team, you will review results coming out of our state-of-the-art wet chemistry laboratory.   

To succeed in this role, you will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and an effective communicator. You will be proactive in maintaining a safe working environment and take pride in delivering quality and consistency in your work as part of an accountable, high performing team.  

 

Your responsibilities will include:  

  • Review laboratory results in line with established procedures
  • Issue repeat analyses and authorise results for release within SampleManager, the Laboratory Information Management System
  • Liaise with the laboratory team to plan when results are ready for review and release
  • Raise quality issues and assist the laboratory operations team with troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions
  • Liaise with customer service team to provide up to date information on sample status and estimated delivery timeframes

 

Skills & experience you will have:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in Applied Science or Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques
  • Experience working in a wet chemistry laboratory or working in quality control is desirable
  • Experience using LIMS and proficient use of Microsoft excel is desirable 
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong customer focus
  • Enjoys solving problems and identifying improvements

The successful candidate will be rostered in line with the demands of the laboratory, with shifts rostered between the laboratory’s operating hours of 6am-6pm. Full-time hours will be required Jan – April.
